C.W.I. Annual Meetings
Three Country Women’s Institutes in North Can-, terbury held their annual meeting* recently. Madbury.—Meetings through the year had been well attended and some interesting speakers had addressed the dub, reported the president (iMrs W. Young). Officers elected »re: President, Mrs E. Mason’s Flat.—The year had been eventful and rewarding for the institute with many practical demonstrations, informative taiko and two visits made to city factories. A successful mannequin parade was held in May and many gifts were given to the Bed Cross. The Inch Trophy was won by Mrs J. Evans. Officers elected are: President, Mrs M. Bari; vice-presidents, Mesdames J. Brown and K. Harkens; aecreary, Mrs G. Mason; treasurer, Mrs W. Lilley; committee, Mesdames W. Baldwin, T. Smellie, G. McCrae. The Peaks.—Activities during
■ very successful year included assistance in collection, for the Foundation for the Blind, gifts of bedsock* and feeders te Templeton hospital, and a Christmas cake to the aged. Officers elected are: President, Mrs D. Bussell; vice-presidents, Mesdames I. Steel and C. Quigley; minute secretary, Mrs T. Power; correspondence secretary, Mrs T. Haseal; treasurer, Mrs A. Butherford; points steward, Mrs C. Quigley; flower steward, Mn C. Denton.
