Stronghold finished brilliantly to win the Goldfields Handicap, the first leg of the T.A.B. double at the Thames Trotting Club’s meeting at Alexandra Park last night. He snatched victory in the last stride from Bosun. John was only half a head away third after looking an almost certain winner with 100 yards to go. The T.A.B, double, Stronghold and Kiwi Express, paid £2B 19s for £l. The weather was overcast and the track fast.
