AUSTRALIAN DISPLAY

Australian building materials exported to New Zealand were exhibited at the opening of the Australian display comer in the Canterbury Exhibition Centre, in High street, by the Australian Government Trade Commissioner in the South Island (Mr M. Coultas). Polished native timbers and Australian-made tools and accessories used in the building trade were on display. Mr Coultas said that it was the first permanent display of its kind in the South Island. The themes would be rotated after several months, and other industries connected with New Zealand would have exhibits at the centre.
