CHEQUER BOARD

Start At Manawatu

(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH. The smart pacer, Chequer Board, now is a certain runner in the Capstan Commodore Mile at the Manawatu Raceway on Tuesday. Manawatu Trotting Club officials negotiated successfully with National Airways officers for air transport for Chequer Board, which will fly from Harewood on Monday with Disband. The special flight will arrive at Rongotai after which the two pacers will be loaded on to a float at Wellington for Palmerston North. Club officials are confident that all eight runners will start in the feature race at the Manawatu Trotting Club autumn meeting.
