If you wish to grow some 150 odd different eucalyptus, perhaps half a dozen species of hakea, an assortment of palms or may be try your luck in establishing Alberta magna in the garden, then a copy of “Seeds, 1967” (Peter B. Dow and Company, Gisborne) is an essential primary requirement.
This is a catalogue with a difference for it offers only seeds, in quantities from 100 seeds and l/16th of an ounce, to lib lots, ranging from tender sub-tropicals to temperate and very hardy ones, all priced in decimal currency. The listings are accompanied by many small coloured, and black-and-white, photographs of some of the plants mentioned.
From Auckland has come to hand the "Bell Roses Catalogue, 1967.” This concern is one of the biggest exclusive rose growers in New Zealand and, as always, has a very wide range to offer, including many new ones.
The catalogue is divided into sections, thus making it a simple matter to obtain a reference, whether it be a cultural point or the names of suitable climbing miniature roses. Numerous coloured photographs increase the scope of the publications, for one can then get some idea of the colour described.
