Women Hold Annual Meetings

Belfast Red Cross Mrs R. L Brake, who presided at the annual meeting of the Belfast Red Cross subcentre, congratulated Mrs A. Henry on her leadership during her nine years of presidency, and expressed regret that she was leaving the district

A sum of £43 had been forwarded to the North Canterbury Centre from the subcentre during the year. Members had held a house to house collection and collected Braille envelopes in Belfast and assisted at the Market the Red Cross and Aged People’s Welfare collections in Christchurch.

They had assisted in the preparation of vegetables and the packing of hampers for the Good Neighbour Service, provided meals three times each week for an elderly resident and visited several hospitals.
