BULLDOZER STOLEN
Aerial Search In N.S.W. (Special Crspdt. N.Z P A.) SYDNEY, April 4. Light aircraft pilots joined police and insurance assessors this week in hunting for the “hottest” piece of stolen property in New South Wales, a 10,000 dollars (£N.Z.4000), five-ton, bright yellow bulldozer.
The bulldozer was stolen from a construction site at Enfield, near Sydney, at Easter. It was the third stolen in New South Wales recently, and insurance assessors believe a bulldozer gang may be at work. Hamilton Assessors Pty., Limited, called in light aircraft to join the search .for the bulldozer at the weekend. This week, pilots from one light aircraft company will keep an eye out for the bulldozer during their regular flights.
Mr S. J. Pollard, of Hamilton Assessors, said the bulldozer was obviously driven from the rite by an experienced driver. “A bloke could earn up to 600 dollars (£N.Z.240) a week with one of these things,” he said.
