Further Savings Bank Grants Of £775
The Canterbury Savings Bank has made further grants totalling £775 from its profits to March 31 this year—including £5OO for a Rangiora diabetic survey. These bring to £lO,OOO the grants made by the bank from profits last year.
The president of the bank, Mr G. R. Burrowes, in an-
nouncing the additional grants, said that the trustees bad decided to sponsor in full the diabetic survey being conducted in Rangiora, and accordingly had granted a further £5OO, making a total of £lOOO to the committee organising the survey. The trustees had also decided to make a grant towards providing mountainface rescue equipment for search purposes. Details of the additional grants totalling £775 are:— Canterbury.—Rangiora Diabetic Survey, £500; Mountain Search and Rescue Committee, £5O; Venerable Order of St John (Lyttelton SubCentre), £5O; N.Z. Dental Association (Dental Research Foundation), £3O; Calvary Hospital Library Fund, £25. M arlborough.—Marl borough Centennial Association, £10; Blenheim Free Kindergarten Association, £l5; Marlborough Youth Hostel Association, £l5; Marlborough Competitions Society, £lO. Nelson.—Nelson District Girls’ Brigade, £10; Tuberculosis Association, £10; Motueka Plunket Society, £10; Richmond Plunket Society, £10; Motueka Free Kindergarten, £10; Nelson Jaycee Nature Land Project £lO.
