Griffith To Fade Out?

(N.Z. Press Awn- Copyright) LONDON. The West Indies fast bowler, C. C. Griffith, is nearing the end of his controversial career and is unlikley to be chosen against the touring England team this year, the “Daily Sketch” cricket writer, Brian Scoveil, said. Griffith missed most of the Shell matches for Barbados this year and has not been taking his usual quota of wickets, said Scovell.

Another reason the writer gave was: “Griffith is becoming an embarrassment to the West Indies cricket authorities because of the controversy which follows him around the world.” Scovell has recently returned from a visit to the West Indies and he said the president of the Barbados Cricket Association, Mr Eric Innis, has announced a number of positive steps which the West Indies are taking to eliminate throwers.
