<N.7. “ress 4ssor*'’tinn) WELLINGTON, March 22. A protocol was signed in Wellington today amending an article of the convention between New Zealand and Japan for the avoidance of double taxation. The amendment to the 1963 convention will exempt international shipping profits derived by enterprises of either country from liability to tax in the other country. The conventi a at present permits tax to be imposed on shipping profits at one-half the normal rate. The protocol was signed by the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) and the interim Charge d’Affaires of Japan, Mr S. Nomyama.
