Student Guests For Rotary

Forty overseas students were guests of the Christchurch South Rotary Club at a dinner at the Sign of the Takahe on Wednesday evening. Rotary members were each responsible for the transport of a student and acted as host during the evening. The guest speaker was the Dean of Christchurch (the Very Rev. M. Underhill), who said that because of man’s d sperate urge to fight, the making of friends was a slow and difficult process. The evening was arranged by the Rotary Club as part of World Understanding Week.
