Glasgow Rangers reached the semi-finals of the European Cup Winners’ Cup soccer competition when they won the toss of a coin. The Rangers qualified in spite of being beaten by Real Saragossa, 2-0, in the second leg of their quarter-final match. Rangers won the first leg, 2-0, and after 90 minutes of the second leg the aggregate scores were level. There were no further goals during extra time.
