Glasgow Rangers reached the semi-finals of the European Cup Winners’ Cup soccer competition when they won the toss of a coin. The Rangers qualified in spite of being beaten by Real Saragossa, 2-0, in the second leg of their quarter-final match. Rangers won the first leg, 2-0, and after 90 minutes of the second leg the aggregate scores were level. There were no further goals during extra time. Results of other matches were: ENGLISH LEAGUE Division One: Everton 0, Tottenham 1. Division Two: Cardiff 0. Portsmouth 0 SCOTTISH CUP Quarter-final replays: Aberdeen 3. Hibernian 0; Hamilton 1, Clyde 5. SCOTTISH LEAGUE Division One: Dunfermline 1, Hearts 0. Division Two: Queen s Park 4, Clydebank 2.
