N.Z. DARTS TEAM

Competition In Australia The third New Zealand team to compete in the annual Australian and New Zealand darts championships left Christchurch thia morning. It is classified as a state team, and will contest the teams' and singles titles in Adelaide from Saturday until Easter Monday. The eight players, chosen after the New Zealand championships at Mosgiel last year, are T, Parkin (captain, Hutt Valley), G. Austin (Hutt Valley), D. Rollo (Auckland), G. Logan (Canterbury), A. Campbell (Hutt Valley), A. King (Mosgiel), H. Leckie (Southland), J. Farrar (Nelson). The team will compete against Australian states, each of which can enter up to eight players. Leckie, Logan and King are the most experienced members. They are the only former national representatives. Logan won the Dominion singles title from Leckie last year and King was pairs champion. All eight players have reached finals of New Zealand championships. Parkin holds the world record of 55001, scored in Ihr 52min.

Accompanying the team will be Messrs F. Batchelor (Clinton) and C. G. Purkis (Christchurch) the delegates to ths Australasian Darts Council conference which will be held in conjunction .with the championships. The team manager will be Mr N. Tristram, of Hutt Valley. >
