Boy Died At Baths

INVERCARGILL, Mar. 22. A 12-yeaiM>ld boy drowned in the Invercargill tepid baths this afternoon. He was Paul James Hair, son of Mr and Mrs E. A. Hair, of 5 Orwell crescent, Invercargill. When bathers were cleared from the crowded pool at 5.45 p.m. the boy was noticed on the bottom. He failed to respond to continued mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and was pronounced dead when taken to Kew Hospital.
Special Mass.—The Roman Catholic Bishop of Christchurch (the Most Rev. B. P. Ashby) will consecrate oils which are to be used in parishes throughout his diocese over the next year, at the annual Mass of the Consecration of Holy Oils at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament this morning.
