Palisade Top-Weight In Adams Handicap

The brilliant Wingatui veteran stayer, Palisade, has been given top-weight of 9-9 in the £3600 George Adams Handicap, one of the feature races on the first day of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s autumn meeteing on Easter Monday.

Palisade has been weighted 111 b above the New Zealand Cup winner; Royal Bid, a stone above the Wanganui Gold Cup winner, Bandon; and 181 b above Court Belle and Cassarook, both good winners for Gore stables this season.

The brilliant Waikato mare, High Glee, is top-weight with 9st 21b in the Great Easter Handicap. High Glee, Which improved a spectacular record at six furlongs with a win at Trentham on Saturday, has 11 lb more than the second topweight, Royal Chase, and 12 lb more than Middy, the Great Easter winner last year, and the sprint winner at Oamaru yesterday.
