AIRLINE APPEAL

Apprentice Contract (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 12. Air New Zealand has. successfully appealed to the Court of Arbitration, northern industrial district, to set up an apprenticeship in airline catering. In his judgment, Judge Blair allowed in principle the airline’s appeal against the refusal of the scheme by the district commissioner of apprenticeship, Auckland, Mr D. F. Sheenan, on January 3. The application was made under section 19 of the Apprentices Act, 1948. Judge Blair's interpretation of the act found that Mr Sheenan should have approved in principle an apprenticeship contract between Air New Zealand and the proposed apprentice.
