INVITATION STAKES

Robin Dundee Fourth

(N.Z. Pres* Assn.— Copyright) SYDNEY. The champion New Zealand mare, Robin Dundee, found her handicap of 36 yards too severe and was beaten into fourth place in the Champion Pacer Invitation Stakes at Harold Park on Friday night. The short distance of Ilf furlongs did not give Robin Dundee time to make up her handicap, but she flashed home to record the fastest mile rate of 2min 4sec.

Her failure was not surprising as the winner. Rachel McGregor, set a race record. Rachel McGregor led most of the way to beat Double Adlos and Tongue Twister in 3inin 3 l-ssec.

This took 2 3-Ssec off the record set by the outstanding mare. Slbella. in 1958. Robin Dundee was last at the bell and it is estimated that she ran her last mile in 2min. The other two New Zealanders in the stakes. Rocky Star and Southern Song, finished just behind Robin Dundee. Rocky Star was heavily backed and came with a strong run from third last at the bell. Southern Song was handy most of the way. CHERTSEY TROTTING CLUB (INC.) EASTER MONDAY MEETING MARCH 27. 1967 NOMINATIONS CLOSE 4 p.m., Monday. March 13, 1967. P.O. Box 10. Rakala. Phone 6, Rakala.
