(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 12. Two men were killed in separate accidents on the Rotorua-Tauranga highway near Whakatane on Saturday night.

They were Denis Cyril Franz Lansky, aged 27, an undersealer, married, of West End, Ohope Beach, and Karauna Murray, aged 54, married, with 11 children, timber mill worker, of Thornton, near Whakatane.

Mr Lansky was a passenger in a car which struck a Bailey bridge five miles south of Whakatane at 5 p.m. Mr Murray was fatally injured in a collision involving three vehicles near the Rangitaiki river bridge at Thornton. The driver of the car in which Mr Murray was travelling, Thomas William, of the Tokoroa Land and Survey Block, Rotorua, was in a serious condition in the Whakatane Hospital last night. her way to Palmerston North Hospital last night after being involved in a twocar collision on Highway No. 1 at Otaki. She was

Mrs Mary Elizabeth Velvln, aged 42, of Knights road, Hastings.

Her husband, Ernest John Velvin, and the driver of the other car, Bartholomews Johannes Burns, of Parkdale road, Karori, were admitted to Palmerston North Hospital.

Doctors today described their condition as satisfactory.

A middle-aged man died in Wellington Hospital on Saturday afternoon of bead injuries received when be was knocked down by a car in the vicinity of the King’s wharf pedestrian crossing at 11.45 a.m. on Saturday. Police have not released his name pending the notification of next-of-kin overseas.
