Running Scared Oamaru Fancy

Running Scared should be one of the brightest winning prospects on the programme on the first day of the Oamaru Jockey Club’s meeting today.

Running Scared earned favouritism for the Redcastle Hack Handicap with an easy win in the high-weight at the Banks Peninsula meeting last week. At his previous start the Riccarton - trained Dogger Bank was placed at a middle, distance on his home track. Running Scared is trained at Riccarton by P. H. Jones. Banks Peninsula form also indicates bold runs from Tumble, Golden Promise, Ngatua, and Water Deer today. Golden Promise, Ngatua and

Water Deer will meet in the Trial Stakes ,the first leg of the on-course concession double.

Tumble is top-weight in the Papakaio Handicap, but 8-2 does not make heavy demands

on weight-carrying ability, and if an easy win at Motukarara did not take the edge off his form, the Overboard gelding’s run should be hard to match. Middy, Ibn, and Newbrook are a fancied trio for the Stewards’ Handicap, second leg of the T.A.B. double.
