Elections Of Parents On High School Boards

Elections will be required for parents’ representatives on the boards of governors of six high schools in Christchurch on March 23. Nominations exceed the vacancies.

The seven other high schools have received the required number of nominations.

Most schools have four parents’ representatives on the board, and some specify that one must be a woman. Where only one woman has been nominated in these cases she has been declared elected and men will contest the other seats. The schools to hold elections and their nominations are: Mairehau.—Mrs M. Crosier, Mrs E. A. Watson, Messrs C. D. Bailey, J. W. Rowe and J. C. Thomson. Papanui (three seats).—Mrs
