PARENTS ' CENTRE

91 Attend Classes

Ante-natal classes at the Young Women’s Christian Association attracted 91 mothers during the year and postnatal classes were also enthusiastically supported, says the annual report of the Christchurch Parents’ Centre, which will be presented at its annual meeting next week. The pilot scheme in physical education run by Mrs N. Sutherland reported a steady increase in numbers and 74 members had taken part since the classes started in August, 1965.

On the suggestion of the Parents* Centre, the W.E.A. began a course of lecture discussions for parents. These evenings, entitled “Parents Look at Adolescence,” attracted an average of 39 persons. The centre hopes for similar courses in suburban areas.
