Cheaper One Way

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 10. Between June 1 and August 15, a return trip for an Australian travelling from Sydney to Auckland will cost £3B 2s. But his New Zealand counterpart travelling from Auckland to Sydney and back will have to pay £27 4s more.

The reason: The airlines want to encourage Australians to come to New Zealand in the offpeak travel season. Similar reductions exist for AustraUans making

return trips from Brisbane and Melbourne to Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, but not for New Zealanders travelling the opposite way. For the rest of the year fares will cost Australians and New Zealanders the same price. An airline' official said that New Zealanders taking a “package” trip to Australia—a trip which includes accommodation, meals and sightseeingpaid substantially less than the economy class return fare of £65 6s.
