“Publicity Harmful”
(N.Z. Pres, Association)
AUCKLAND, March 8. The Federation of Justices’ Association will urge the Minister of Justice (Mr Hanan) to forbid the publication of all evidence given at preliminary hearings of indictable Court cases.
The remit was put forward at the association’s conference today, stating that the publicity of evidence given in the preliminary hearings had a harmful effect, especially on adolescents.
