TROTTING Glen Dee, Le Chant May Beat Trotters

Glen Dee and Le Chant will only have to produce peak runs to win their heats of the New Zealand Trotting Championship at Addington Raceway tomorrow evening.

These races form the legs of the concession on-course double. Although each field numbers only 10, betting will be well spread as both races contain a high proportion of form runners.

Glen Dee failed badly at his most recent start when he broke badly. Before that his form was of

a very high standard.

He looks reasonably placed on 12 yards and will only have to trot smoothly over the first furlong to be the hardest to beat.

Mighty Chief is certain to offer spirited opposition to Glen Dee. He won brilliantly in fast time on February 18 and has fully earned his handicap of 30 yards. Harbour Light, Forward March, Tronso and Asia Minor are all capable to taking

part in the finish, and Glen Dee and Mighty Chief will by no means have things their own way.

Le Chant has not won for six starts, but she has been placed three times, and has not been far away at the finish of her other races. She is a fine stayer and is selected to win the second heat.

Johnny Gee was a shade disappointing at Hutt Park last month; but he trotted sound races without receiving much luck in the running. He is one of the most promising horses of his gait and is entitled to serious consideration.

Uteena has been a model of consistency since Christmas

and on that score alone she must be respected. French Pass, Logan Count, Towser and Queen’s Cord are all in great heart and they could show to advantage.

The T.A.B. double will be run on the heats of the Easter Cup, Tobias and Lordship forming the probable favourite combination.

Fair weather is forecast and the track will be fast.
