Three Records Broken In Schools’ Swimming
Three records, two of them in heats, were broken at the boys’ inter-secondary schools’ swimming sports at the Centennial Pool yesterday.
The Canterbury representative and Christchurch Boys’ j High School swimmer, A., Kindred, lowered the senior l 110 yards backstroke record by I.Bsec in his heat, winning by a margin of half the pool in Imin 12.5 sec. In the 4 x 55 yards intermediate relay, Christchurch Boys’ High School recorded Imin 59.65ec, beating by o.Bsec, the record set by C.B.H.S. last year. The only record broken in a final was in the senior 110 yards breaststroke, J. Edmunds (C.8.H.5.) improving the old record of Imin 20.3 sec by o.Bsec.
