AIRCRAFT NOT SEEN
Copeland Search "We are satisfied that there is no aircraft wreckage in the Copeland river valley on the West Ccast,” said the search and rescue coordinator of the Civil Aviation Department (Mr E. G. Brooke) in Christchurch last evening. “I do not think there is any justification for doing any more aerial searching,” he said.
“We got into the area on Tuesday and, fa the clear atmospheric conditions there was nothing resembling an aircraft. We searched extensively.
“The final decision will have to be made by the police, but we are satisfied there is no wreckage there.”
