IBERIC MOVES

Mooring Line

Breaks

A surge at Cashin Quay yesterday carried away an after mooring spring from the cargo liner Iberic. No other damage was done, and the Iberic which had been discharging at the quay since arrival last Monday, sailed after completion early yesterday afternoon for New Plymouth. An easterly wind which sprang up early this week caused the mishap. The Iberic moved considerably while at the berth and was under extra surveillance by officers of the Lyttelton Harbour Board. Because of the wind, the Auckland Star, whicn was originally supposed to berth at the quay to discharge 2400 tons of general cargo from the United Kingdom, berthed in the inner harbour.
