Old Style In Demand
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) WASHINGTON, March 9. The United States Air Force Invited 21 companies yesterday to turn back the clock and design a fighter plane more like the Mustang of the Second World War and Korea.
The Air Force wants a heavily-armed, rugged plane, probably with reciprocating engine and propeller for close support of ground troops in limited wan such as in Vietnam where there is no enemy air opposition.
