Vietnam Issue Raised

NEW YORK, March 9. About 75 persons protesting against the Vietnam war walked out when tbe United States Vice-President, Mr Hubert Humphrey, rose to address a National Book Awards’ ceremony in New York last night. Mr Humphrey had just reached the lectern when an unidentified man among the audience of 1000 shouted: “About how many children are you burning alive in Vietnam?”
The walk-out followed, while the rest of the audience loudly cheered Mr Humphrey. The Vice-president began his address by saying: “This is what we mean by freedom of speech.”
