FARMERS’ STRIKE
Deadlock In Dublin IN.Z P.A.-Reuter— Copyright; DUBLIN, Mar. 9. Irish fanners tonight rejected an appeal by the Prime Minister, Mr Jack Lynch, to end their three-day-old strike, but said they would keep listening to Government proposals. After ? seven_ hour meeting in Dublin, the executive of the National Farmers’ Association decided to carry on with their one-week ban on sending produce or livestock to market.
The strike is in protest against the gaoling of 60 farmers for non-payment of fines imposed after a countrywide blockade of roads with farm vehicles last January as part of a long campaign for improved farm incomes.
