Race For N.Z.-Built Cars

event for New Zealandbuilt cars will be the feature race at the Canterbury Car Club’s Ruapuna Park racing circuit this Sunday. The main race will be divided into two classes, for single-seaters, and for sports cars. Trophies have been given for both classes by Mr R. H. Stewart, of P.D.L. Industries.

In the single-seater class, entries include the ACE IV of W. Darrell, A. Smith, of Invercargill, in the 120 EN Special, L. Tosh, of Tapanui, in a Zephyr Special, A. Rhodes, of Christchurch, in the 260 M Zephyr Special, H. Green in the R.A., L. Bryant,

of Akaroa, in a Valour, and N. Stuart, of Christchurch, in the Stuart Jaguar.

The sports-tar class entries include the Stanton Corvette, driven by G. Mardon—the pick for over-all victory in the race—and the Begg Chevrolet of B. Hawes. R. Stewart will field his Robat Mantis. In addition to the main event there will be the usual list of saloon, sports and single-seater events. Saloon entries include numerous Minis and GT Anglias, the Anglia Corvette of N. Doyle, C. Collins in the Ford Farina, R. Silvester in the Chevrolet Corvette coupe, and C. Neate in the Prince GT. .
