Collapsed In Dock
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 6. A house matron, Margaret Lewis, aged 66, charged with the murder of Ross Allenby Scholes at Auckland on March 4, collapsed in the dock of the Magistrate’s Court today after hearing the charge read against her. She was appearing before Mr E. F. Rothwell, S.M. Sergeant B. P. Donnelly asked for a remand until March 20. This was agreed to by Mr J. S. Henry, who appeared for Lewis. No plea was entered. The Courtroom was crowded when she appeared.
The accused was there for less than a minute and was about to be stood down when she collapsed. The Court was adjourned for some minutes until the accused was revived and was escorted away.
