Students’ Association

Sir,—lt seems a little ironi- ' cal that in your report of the ' Opening of -the new Students* Association building at Bam the one speaker you virtually ignored was the president of the Students* Association, Mr John Anderson. What the president said was worthy of some notice. As a recent graduate, I was also surprised to find so few of the 5000 students had been encouraged to attend, '‘specially when one considers the £130,000 that they and their predecessors have contributed towards the construction of the building, a fact which was also not specifically mentioned. The student body and its leaders, such as Mr Anderson, are indeed to be congratulated on their outstanding achievement in raising such an enormous sum of money, largely from their own pockets, so rapidly, and thus easing the taxpayers’ burden.—Yours, etc., RECENT GRADUATE. March 4, 1967.
