AUSTRALIAN VANADIUM

Remote Range Deposits (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) PERTH, February 26. Vanadium deposits estimated at about 100,000,000 tons have been found near the remote Jameson range, 520 miles north-east of Kalgoorlie. the Western Australian Mines Minister, Mr Arthur Griffith, said yesterday. Random samples indicated a grade from 0.82 to 2.42 per cent vanadium, he said. Vanadium is used as an alloying agent in the iron and steel industry because it maintains hardness at high temperatures. Mr Griffith has put a Ministerial Reserve over the deposits, which were found by a Mines Department mapping party. USE the Advertisements In "The Press" to plan your buv. ing.
