Unlucky In Final

Waltaki Hanover had been most unlucky not to have got into the finish of the Inter-Dominion Championship Grand Final in Perth, said his driver, D. J. Townley, at Washdyke on Saturday. “He felt really good

and was going easily until the smash with less than half a mile left. He wasn’t knocked down, but lost 24 yards trying to avoid the breaking horses,” said Townley. “When Robin Dundee sprinted up I felt I was going to be better off by staying where I was as the others made her work hard to get up to the leader. I felt we were just jogging, but the smash ended everything,” he said.
