Relaxed Air At North Beach
After the splendour and precision of the New Zealand championship meeting in the Centennial Pool the previous week, there was a pleasantly rustic atmosphere about the Canterbury Swimming Centre’s primary and open carnival at the North Beach centennial pool on Saturday morning. The Canterbury representatives were enjoying a wellearned rest from their labours at the national meeting; their absence presented a number of promising swimmers with an opportunity to show their form in more advantageous circumstances. Abbreviations used in the results are:— N, Beach, North Beach; N. Bri„ New Brighton; E.. Elmwood; S., Spreydon; W., Wharenui; R.. Rangiora; J.P., Jellie Park; 8., Beckenham.
