TROTTING Miles Gentry Picked At Hutt Tonight

j Miles Gentry will put another notable victory on record if he gives eight rivals a start and a beating in the August Handicap at the Hutt Park Raceway tonight.

Mr H. S. Barry’s , capable colt is the back-marker on 24 yards in this mile and a half event for three-year-old pacers on the first night of the Wellington Trotting Club’s summer meeting. Miles Gentry will be trying for his third win of the season. His most recent success —and his second this year—was in the Ferry Handicap at the Wellington Cup meeting last month. In that restrictedage race he gave away starts up to 24 yards to all but one of his rivals and won as he liked. The hardest for Miles Gentry to beat will probably be Dark Sun, the runner-up to Curragh Dan in the Twilight Stakes at Addington Raceway last Saturday night. Regal Hal, a decisive maiden winner at Hutt Park in November and a consistent

night, and the locally-trained Reporter may be the best of the others.

Johnny . Gee and Gaylee are selected for the T.A.B. double which will be run on the Thompson Trotting Free-for-all and the V. C. McPhail Handicap. The best of Johnny Gee’s rivals in the first leg could be Uteena and Poupette. Apart from Gaylee the best of the second-leg chances might be Tutta Tryax and Frosty Heather. There will be an on-course concession double on the Pope and Armstrong Handicaps. Oh Johnny is picked to win the first leg. Cathpete, Orient Belle and Double Step might battle it out for sec-ond-leg honours. The forecast is for fine place-getter in his races meantime, will be another strong fancy.
