Big Whaleboat Race

AUCKLAND, Feb. 22.
In one of the biggest races of its kind held on the Waitemata harbour in years, 10 whaleboats lined up at Devonport wharf today. Three were manned by crews from the Norwegian liner Sagafjord, three by H.M.N.Z.S. TamaH ratings, two by H.M.N.Z.S. Philomel ratings, and two by cadets from the New Zealand Shipping Company training chip Otaio.
