The top price was 5500gns for a chestnut filly by Australian champion sire, Wilkes, from Eucla. This was a record sum for a filly in an Adelaide sale ring, the previous highest having been 4600gns.
The filly was offered on account of R. Concannon, of Noonamah Stud, Echunga, where Pago Pago was bred, and was bought by the South Australian breeders, Hall brothers.
The top price for a colt was 5300gns for a Coronation BoyBavarla colt, a brother of Munich.
The record for South Australia is 6000gns. The colt was bought by the Victorian trainer, A. E. Elkington. 1
There was a big demand for youngsters by the new Lindsay Park sire, Natural Bid, some of them in the 4000gns and over group.
