1 SYDNEY, February 8. New South Wales today sent 10,000 dollars as immediate relief for victims of the Tasmanian bush fires.

The money came from the New South Wales bush fire relief fund. The relief was authorised by Sydney’s Lord Mayor,

Aiderman J. Armstrong, who is chairman of the bush fire committee.

He said today he would ask the City Council at its meeting next Monday to set up an appeal for further relief.

The Anglican Archbishop of Sydney, the Most Rev. M. L. Loane, has sent a 2000dollar cheque to the Bishop of Tasmania, the Rt Rev. Robert Davies, for the relief of victims.

Archbishop Loane has also written to parishes in Sydney asking that a special collection be taken up next Sunday to be sent to Tasmania.
