The M.C.C. under-25 touring team is heading for. a big victory against the President’s XI after gaining a first innings lead of 123, and then dismissing five of the home batsmen in their second innings with only 80 runs on the board. The M.C.C., 81 for two overnight, scored 280, thanks to useful knocks by A. Knott (75) and D. Amis, who scored 102 in 230 minutes and hit 14 boundaries. Scores: President’s XI 157 and 80/5, M.C.C. 280.

Bowlers Arrive.—A group of 32 Australian bowlers arrived in Auckland yesterday to start a six-week tour that will take them through the North and South Islands. They will be in the South Island from February 27 until March 23.
