NEW GAS STRIKE

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, Feb. 8. A big new gas strike in the North Sea off Britain’s east coast was announced yesterday. The strike is giving the highest rate of gas flow yet, said a Gas Council spokesman.
An American oil man said that it could be “a whacker.” The big strike was made by Phillips Petroleum Exploration (U.K.), Ltd, and their partners 17 miles off the Norfolk coast
