Body Found On Beach

A body washed ashore at South Bay, Kaikoura, yesterday morning has been identified as that of Gordon Basil A’Court, aged 40, of Hamilton avenue, Christchurch, who disappeared when his small boat was swamped in a heavy sea 17 days ago. The body was seen by a fisherman on Wednesday afternoon submerged about 70 yards from the shore. The spot was buoyed and the Kaikoura police were notified, but two skin-divers, hampered by the strong north-west wind, could not find the body. Yesterday morning Mr G. Foster, of South Bay, found it on the beach.
