Liverpool edged to a onepoint lead in the first division of the English Football League on Saturday when it scored a 2-1 home win over Southampton after being a goal down after only six minutes of play. The leader’s nearest rival, Man Chester United, without its star forward and captain. D. Law, could only draw 1-1 away in its local “Derby” clash with Manchester City.
