Success In Marching

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 9. New Zealand marching girls won several top awards in the West Australian marching championships at Perth on Sunday, according to information received yesterday by Mr J. Bruce, the Panmure delegate to the Auckland Marching Association. Four teams of girls, aged from eight to 18 years, from the Swiftfootes Marching Club, Panmure, went to Australia two weeks ago to compete against 40 Australian teams at Perth—the first New Zealand teams to do so. In the midget section, Swiftfoote Minettes were first in the display marching. In the junior section, Swiftfoote Kiwis were first in the inarch past, and second in display. Also, in the junior section, the Swiftfoote Elks were first in display. The senior team was second in display.
