Year Goses On Firm Note (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copgripht: SYDNEY. December 30. The Sydney share market finished the year on a very firm note. This morning’s trading was reasonably quiet but rises outnumbered falls by almost three to one. The stronger trend was spread over all sections of the market, especially the mining post. The Sydney Stock Exchange will reopen on Tuesday. January’ 3. In Melbourne share prices closed this year on a strong note with falls few and small. B. led the rises with a jump of 16 cents to 656 and Henry’ Jones rose 10 cents to 400. In minings Mt. Morgan gained 10 cents to a new 1966 peak of 345. SYDNEY Sales.—Consol.
