New Viscount For N.A.C.
The National Airways Corporation will take delivery of its fifth Viscount early next year. It has been bought from 1.0. T., the Polish airline. The engineering manager for N.A.C. in Christchurch (Mr A. J. Smaill) said yesterday that the Viscount would go to the airline’s Christchurch hangars before entering service to be brought up to N.A.C. specifications. It was due on February 3.
He said that the aircraft would be delivered with a slightly different arrangement of facilities from that of the N.A.C. It would also have to be painted with the N.A.C. colours.
