“Miss Pines Beach”

When it was reported yesterday that Miss Robyn Burrows, chosen as “Miss Pines Beach” at a gala organised by the Pines Beach Association, had been disqualified from entering the “Miss New Zealand Holiday Resorts” contest because she was under 16 years of age, it was said that officials had omitted to tell either Miss Burrows or her parents of the required age limit.

The association’s secretary (Mr P. Thompson) said yesterday that in fact Miss Burrows’s male friend, who entered her name on the day of the gala, was told the position.

Judge W. F. Stilwell has been reappointed chairman of the Cinematograph Films Censorship Board of Appeal. His term will expire on August 31, 1968.—(P-A)
