MEAT BY AIR

(N.Z. Press Association)

WELLINGTON, Dec. 19.

The Meat Board has appointed two investigating consultants for a two-year period to advise on the future of airfreighting meat from New Zealand.

They are Air Vice-Mar-shal I. G. Morrison, who will be chairman, and Mr R. H. Bevin, who will shortly retire from the post of director of the Meat and Wool Boards’ Economic Service. Later the board may appoint a third member from the commercial community. Questions raised about the future of air-freight-ing of meat in the era of “jumbo” jet aircraft will be among those which the consultants will study.
