SHOOTING SHIELD
Nelson College Success For the thirteenth year In succession a Nelson College cadet unit has won “The Press” South Island Challenge Shield for shooting, with a score of 97.2 points. The North Island Shield was won by King’s College with a score of 93.2. Fourteen teams in the Southern Military District competed for the shield and eight of them gained 80 points or more. Five teams in the Central Military District competed and three gained 80 or more points, and in the Northern Military District nine teams competed and five gained 80 or more points. The Nelson College unit also gets a cash award of £lO. The team was D. Ward, T. M. Reynolds, R. H. V. Donald, T. D. Ashworth, B. Woollcombe, N. A. Wall, D. Maddever, R. L. Hudson, J. A. Gawlth, and A. S. Brown.
The King’s College team was E. M. Thompson, B. F. Dingle, R. G. Prestage, R. R. Anderson, M. K. Garnett, E. M. Ellett, P. L. Sanford, N. J. Simich, M. J. Dodd, H. A. Rogers.
